Luxury hotel wedding venues in Umeda
Umeda is Osaka's business district around JR Osaka Station, four minutes from Shin-Osaka by JR, which makes it the easiest base for guests arriving from Tokyo or Kyoto by Shinkansen. It also has the city's densest cluster of luxury hotels.
The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka
The Ritz-Carlton is the classic downtown Osaka hotel wedding: a Georgian-style interior, a chapel seating 80, and rooms that scale from 8 guests in the Garden Room to a Grand Ballroom that seats 770. It suits couples who want a polished, Western-style evening within four minutes' walk of JR Osaka. For 40 guests expect $14,500 to $20,500 all-in; the low end is a limited-period Terrace or Garden Room plan for October 2026 to March 2027. Caveat: outside flowers and cakes are not allowed, and bringing your own photographer costs ¥55,000 (about $350).
InterContinental Osaka
InterContinental sits in Grand Front Osaka, five minutes' walk from JR Osaka, with a contemporary, low-key design that suits couples who find the Ritz too formal. It seats 10 to 180, and its hinoki room plan starts at 50 guests. For 40 guests budget $18,500 to $22,500 all-in, with the ceremony at ¥440,000. Caveat: it caps the day at two weddings and does not allow outside attire or favours at all, so dresses must come from its partner salons.
Waldorf Astoria Osaka
Opened in 2025 in the new Umekita district, the Waldorf Astoria is the newest luxury wedding venue in Umeda, four minutes from JR Osaka's Umekita underground exit. It seats 10 to 200 and offers church or humanist ceremonies at ¥385,000. It suits couples who want the newest room in the city and are less price-sensitive: we estimate $27,000 to $30,000 all-in for 40 guests, scaled from Zexy's itemised 70-guest quote. Caveat: outside attire costs ¥88,000 to bring in.
Four Seasons Hotel Osaka
The Four Seasons opened in Dojima, just south of Umeda, in August 2024. It takes one wedding a day and keeps it small: a ceremony space for 60, a 37th-floor Sky Salon for 2 to 14, and a ballroom for 10 to 70. That makes it the best Umeda hotel for an intimate, exclusive day. It publishes no plan price; we estimate $24,000 to $30,000 all-in for 40 guests from Wedding Park's 60-guest quote. Caveat: outside flowers and cakes are not permitted, and drinks carry ¥6,600 corkage.
Downtown Osaka hotel wedding venues: Nakanoshima, Honmachi and Namba
South of Umeda, the river island of Nakanoshima and the Honmachi office district hold two of the city's most exclusive hotel venues, and Namba is the gateway from Kansai Airport.
Conrad Osaka
Conrad occupies the top of Festival Tower West in Nakanoshima, with direct access from Higobashi Station and river and city views from its "Clouds" chapel. It seats 6 to 100 and hosts at most two weddings a day, one by day and one in the evening. It is the priciest per guest of the hotels we list: about $28,000 to $31,000 all-in for 40 guests. It suits couples who want a skyline view and a modern, design-led room. Caveat: outside attire costs ¥88,550 to bring in.
The St. Regis Osaka
The St. Regis on Midosuji in Honmachi takes one couple a day and gives you its whole 11th floor, 160 metres up. It seats 6 to 83, so it suits a mid-sized wedding that wants butler-level service and no other bridal party in the building. For 40 guests budget $17,500 to $21,500 all-in; its summer 2027 plan is published at ¥3,790,200 for 60. Caveat: every outside vendor is charged, including ¥55,000 for your own photographer and ¥55,000 for hair and makeup.
Swissôtel Nankai Osaka
Swissôtel sits directly above Nankai Namba Station, 34 to 38 minutes from Kansai Airport on the rapi:t express, which matters if most guests fly in. It has an English-speaking wedding team, is IGLTA accredited, and seats 6 to 540. For 40 guests expect $14,500 to $18,000 all-in, which makes it the best value of the luxury downtown hotels. Caveat: Namba is lively rather than refined, so photos lean city-night rather than quiet elegance.

Osaka Castle and garden wedding venues
Osaka Geihinkan (Nishinomaru Garden, Osaka Castle)
Osaka Geihinkan is a guesthouse built for the 1995 APEC summit inside Nishinomaru Garden, with the castle keep across the lawn. It is run by our venue partner, and it is the Osaka Castle venue we propose to couples who want the castle in their photographs. The building is rented whole for 6 to 104 seated guests, with ceremonies at partner shrines such as Hokoku Shrine in the castle park. For 40 guests expect $11,000 to $17,500 all-in, with winter and weekday plans at the low end. Caveat: spring and autumn weekends go first, so hold your date 12 months out.
The Garden Oriental Osaka
The Garden Oriental is the former Osaka City guesthouse, opened in 1959 on the old Fujita estate on the river just north of the castle, with a large Japanese garden. It seats 6 to 160 and offers chapel, garden, humanist or Shinto ceremonies. It suits couples who want a garden party rather than a ballroom. For 40 guests budget $10,000 to $15,500 all-in, the best value on this page for a venue with grounds. Caveat: bring-in fees are "by consultation", so get outside-vendor terms in writing before you book.
Shrine weddings in Osaka
Sumiyoshi Taisha
Sumiyoshi Taisha in southern Osaka is one of Japan's oldest shrines, known for its arched red bridge. A Shinto ceremony in the main hall (honden) holds 56 people, 28 per family, and the shrine's own Kisshoden hall seats up to 250 for the reception. It suits couples who want a traditional ceremony and reception in one place. For 40 guests expect $13,000 to $16,000 all-in, from its published 60-guest plan. Caveat: the honden takes one couple per slot and the ceremony follows the shrine's own rite, so it is not a venue for a humanist or bilingual ceremony.
Wedding reception venues in Osaka: restaurants
UNWEDDING Nakanoshima
UNWEDDING is a restaurant reception venue on Nakanoshima for 20 to 70 guests, built for relaxed parties rather than full Japanese-format weddings. It is the cheapest way to host a real dinner for 40 in central Osaka: about $6,000 to $9,000 all-in from Wedding Park's 60-guest estimate. It suits couples who hold the ceremony elsewhere, such as Sumiyoshi Taisha or a hotel chapel. Caveat: photographer and dress bring-in are free, but there is no on-site chapel, so the ceremony is a humanist one in the room or happens somewhere else.
Nearby but not in Osaka: Sorakuen, a Meiji-era garden in Kobe, is about 25 minutes from Umeda by train and is worth a look for a garden wedding in the Kansai region.
What does an Osaka wedding cost in 2026?
For 40 guests, the 11 Osaka venues above cost $6,000 to $31,000 all-in. The Zexy 2024 survey puts the Kansai average at ¥3,367,000 (about $21,300) for 46 guests, roughly ¥97,000 a head, a little below Tokyo. Osaka hotels discount harder than Kyoto's heritage venues, and winter and weekday plans run 15 to 25% below list. Peak dates in late March, early April and November carry a premium.
Venue totals are only part of the budget. Our Japan wedding cost guide breaks down photography, attire, florals and guest travel by guest count. If Osaka is one stop on a longer trip, compare it with Tokyo wedding venues and Kyoto wedding venues, or see every region in our guide to the best wedding venues in Japan.
Can foreigners get married in Osaka?
Yes. Every venue on this page hosts symbolic ceremonies for non-Japanese couples. Most couples register their marriage at home and hold the ceremony here, which keeps the paperwork simple; a legal marriage in Japan goes through the ward office and your embassy. Our guide to getting married in Japan as a foreigner covers both routes. If it is just the two of you, Osaka Castle and Sumiyoshi Taisha both work for a small ceremony; see our Japan elopement planning page.
Working with a destination wedding planner in Osaka
We are Eamon and Juri Blackwell, bilingual wedding planners based in Tokyo who plan weddings across Japan, Osaka included. Juri negotiates with venues in Japanese, reads the plan small print and books the vendors; Eamon is your point of contact in English. We shortlist venues against your guest count and dates, request the current plans, and translate every contract line before you sign.

Osaka wedding venue FAQ
Can foreigners have a wedding at a hotel in Umeda?
Yes. The Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental, Waldorf Astoria and Four Seasons in Umeda all host non-Japanese couples, and a hotel ceremony is a symbolic one, so no Japanese paperwork is needed on the day. The catch is language: the wedding salons work mostly in Japanese, and the published plans only exist on Japanese listing sites. A bilingual planner handles that side.
What is the most luxurious wedding venue in downtown Osaka?
For exclusivity, The St. Regis Osaka in Honmachi, which takes one couple a day and gives you its whole 11th floor. For scale, The Ritz-Carlton in Umeda, which seats 8 to 500. Conrad Osaka in Nakanoshima is the most expensive per guest of the hotels we list, at about $28,000 to $31,000 all-in for 40 guests.
How much does a wedding venue in Osaka cost for 40 guests?
Between about $6,000 and $31,000 all-in at the 11 venues on this page, including food, drink, service charge and tax. Restaurant receptions sit at the bottom, Osaka Castle and garden venues at $10,000 to $17,500, and the luxury Umeda and Nakanoshima hotels at $14,500 to $31,000. Planning fees, attire and photography are on top.
Can you get married at Osaka Castle?
Yes, at Osaka Geihinkan, a guesthouse inside Nishinomaru Garden in the castle grounds. It is rented as a whole building for 6 to 104 seated guests, with the main keep in the background of your photos. It is run by our venue partner, and it is the castle venue we propose to couples who want Osaka Castle.
Do I need a destination wedding planner in Osaka?
You need someone who reads Japanese. Osaka venues publish their plans, bring-in fees and cancellation terms in Japanese, contracts are in Japanese, and most wedding salons have no English-speaking coordinator on staff. Each venue sets its own rules on outside planners and vendors, so check them before you sign anything.
