Luxury wedding venues in Minato City
Minato covers Roppongi, Akasaka, Toranomon and Shirokanedai, and it is where most of Tokyo's luxury hotel wedding venues are. It is 25 to 35 minutes from Haneda by taxi.
The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo
The Ritz-Carlton occupies the top of Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, with direct access from Roppongi Station. Its chapel seats 80, the Parkview room 110 and the Grand Ballroom 270, and it can arrange a Shinto ceremony at Hie Shrine. It suits couples who want a sky-high, polished hotel evening. For 40 guests budget $18,500 to $23,500 all-in, from its 30-guest Parkview plan at ¥2,585,000 plus ¥38,500 per extra guest. Caveat: outside photographers, video, hair and makeup and flowers are not allowed.
Grand Hyatt Tokyo
Grand Hyatt sits inside Roppongi Hills, three minutes from Roppongi Station, with a Grand Chapel under a 16-metre ceiling and a ballroom seating 90 to 220. It suits larger weddings with a modern, international crowd. Zexy lists its 2027 plan at ¥3,815,235 for 40 guests, so expect $22,000 to $26,500 all-in. Caveat: there is a minimum of 40 adults, ceremony-only bookings are not accepted, and outside food, cake and flowers are not allowed.
Andaz Tokyo
Andaz fills floors 47 to 52 of Toranomon Hills, and its standalone chapel on the 52nd floor looks out over the city. It seats 40 to 120 and has bilingual wedding planners on staff, which is rare in Tokyo. It is the most expensive venue we list, at about $25,500 to $30,000 all-in for 40 guests from its spring 2027 plan of ¥4,860,680 for 60. Caveat: in its favour, Andaz charges nothing to bring in your own attire, hair and makeup, photographer, video or MC.
Happo-en
Happo-en is a 400-year-old garden estate in Shirokanedai, two minutes from the station, with an on-site shrine, two chapels and rooms from 42 to 162 seated. It was renovated in 2025. It suits couples who want a Japanese garden in central Minato without leaving the city. For 40 guests budget $20,500 to $23,500 all-in, from its spring 2027 plan at ¥3,643,440 for 60 less ¥20,000 per guest. Caveat: it closes on Tuesdays, and cherry blossom season carries a surcharge.
Downtown Tokyo hotel wedding venues: Ginza, Hibiya and Marunouchi
The grand hotels between Ginza and Tokyo Station are the easiest downtown Tokyo hotel wedding venues for guests: Tokyo Station is a few minutes away for Shinkansen arrivals and the Narita Express.
Imperial Hotel Tokyo
The Imperial Hotel faces Hibiya Park, a five-minute walk from Ginza. It has a chapel, a shrine affiliated with Taga Taisha and rooms from 2 guests up to 272 in the Peacock West. It suits couples who want Tokyo's most traditional five-star service. Zexy publishes its 2027 estimate at ¥3,596,725 for 40 guests: $22,500 to $25,000 all-in. Caveat: outside photographers and video are not allowed, but outside hair and makeup, MC and bouquet are free.
The Peninsula Tokyo
The Peninsula sits on the Hibiya crossing opposite the Imperial Palace gardens, with direct access from Hibiya Station and a 24th-floor Sky Chapel for up to 80. Its ballroom seats 70 to 140, so it suits a medium-sized, high-polish wedding with Ginza on the doorstep. Zexy lists 40 guests at ¥3,179,550, so budget $20,000 to $24,000 all-in. Caveat: your own dress costs ¥88,000 to bring in, and outside photographers, video, hair and flowers are not allowed.
Palace Hotel Tokyo
Palace Hotel Tokyo faces the Imperial Palace moat in Marunouchi, eight minutes' walk from Tokyo Station, with a chapel, a Shinto shrine for 66 and an English wedding page. It suits couples who want a quiet, design-led luxury hotel with the palace gardens as a backdrop. For 40 guests expect $18,000 to $24,000 all-in, with the low end on its "butsumetsu" (unlucky-day) plan. Caveat: minimum 40 guests, and it does not allow outside attire, photographers, video, flowers, MC or cake; outside hair and makeup costs ¥110,000.

Wedding venues in Shibuya and Omotesando
Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel
Cerulean Tower stands five minutes from Shibuya Station. It has a working church with a resident pastor, a Noh theatre that hosts humanist ceremonies, and a 39th-floor salon for 40 to 80. It suits couples who want Shibuya energy with a proper hotel behind it. For 40 guests budget $14,500 to $19,000 all-in, which makes it the best-value luxury hotel on this page. Caveat: your own dress costs ¥77,000 to bring in and a tuxedo ¥33,000.
Classica Omotesando
Classica Omotesando is a wedding house three minutes from Omotesando Station, with a bamboo garden room for up to 106 and a smaller Magnolia room for 100. Ceremonies are humanist in-house, or Shinto at nearby Akasaka Hikawa Shrine. It suits couples who want a restaurant-style reception with its own garden instead of a ballroom. For 40 guests budget $14,500 to $20,000 all-in, from its spring 2027 plan at ¥2,729,837 for 60. Caveat: it books 15 months out, though bringing your own attire is free.
Garden wedding venues in Tokyo
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo
Chinzanso is a hotel set inside a large Japanese garden in Mejiro, known for cherry blossom, fireflies in early summer, autumn leaves and its artificial "sea of clouds" mist. It has two chapels, a garden shrine for 100 and halls up to 630, and it launched a set of plans for overseas couples in May 2026. It suits couples who want the garden more than the skyline. For 40 guests expect $16,000 to $22,000 all-in. Caveat: it is outside the central business districts, so arrange a shuttle from Ikebukuro for guests.
Happo-en, above in Minato, is the other great garden venue in central Tokyo.

Shrine weddings in Tokyo
Forest Terrace Meiji Jingu
Forest Terrace is the reception venue inside the Meiji Jingu forest, five minutes from Harajuku. The ceremony takes place in the shrine's Hosaiden hall, with a maximum of 46 attendees, followed by a procession and a reception for up to 108. It suits couples who want Tokyo's best-known shrine wedding. For 40 guests budget $16,500 to $20,000 all-in. Caveat: it hosts at most two couples a day, ceremony photos are taken from designated seats, and outside food is not allowed.
Hie Shrine (Hie Akasaka)
Hie Shrine in Nagatacho is a short walk from Akasaka and Kasumigaseki, with its own reception hall seating up to 120. Its official plans include tax and service: ¥2,417,900 for 30 guests and ¥3,773,700 for 60, so 40 guests come to about $18,000 to $21,000 all-in. It suits a traditional ceremony and dinner in one place in the government district. Caveat: only up to 20 friends may watch the ceremony, and photography inside the shrine is by the shrine's own photographer.

Our Japan wedding cost guide covers the rest of the budget: photography, attire, florals and guest travel. Many couples pair Tokyo with a second city; compare Kyoto wedding venues and Osaka wedding venues, or see every region in our guide to the best wedding venues in Japan.
Can foreigners get married in Tokyo?
Yes. Every venue on this page hosts symbolic ceremonies for non-Japanese couples, and most couples register the marriage at home first. If you want a legal marriage in Japan, it goes through a ward office and your embassy; our guide to getting married in Japan as a foreigner explains both routes. For just the two of you, a shrine ceremony or a hotel suite wedding works well; see our Japan elopement planning page.
Working with a wedding planner in Tokyo
We are Eamon and Juri Blackwell, bilingual wedding planners based in Tokyo. Juri negotiates with venues in Japanese and reads every plan's small print; Eamon is your point of contact in English. Tokyo venues differ most on outside-vendor rules, so we match the venue to the photographer, attire and ceremony you want before you sign.
Tokyo wedding venue FAQ
What is the best luxury wedding venue in Tokyo?
For a classic five-star day, the Imperial Hotel or Palace Hotel Tokyo; for a view, The Ritz-Carlton in Roppongi or Andaz Tokyo's 52nd-floor chapel. Andaz is the most expensive of the 12 venues we list at about $25,500 to $30,000 all-in for 40 guests, but it lets you bring in your own attire, hair and makeup, photographer and MC free of charge.
What are the best wedding venues in Tokyo's Minato City?
Minato has the densest cluster of luxury wedding venues in Tokyo: The Ritz-Carlton and Grand Hyatt in Roppongi, Andaz in Toranomon, and Happo-en's garden in Shirokanedai. For 40 guests they run from about $20,500 at Happo-en to $30,000 at Andaz, all-in.
Are there wedding venues in Ginza, Tokyo?
The big wedding hotels sit just outside Ginza itself: the Imperial Hotel and The Peninsula in Hibiya are a five-minute walk, and Palace Hotel Tokyo is by the Imperial Palace near Tokyo Station. All three hold receptions for 40 guests at roughly $18,000 to $25,000 all-in.
Which wedding venues in Shibuya suit international couples?
Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel next to Shibuya Station, with a working church and a Noh theatre for ceremonies, and Classica Omotesando, a design-led house with garden courtyards that lets you bring in your own attire at no charge. Both cost about $14,500 to $20,000 all-in for 40 guests.
Can foreigners have a Shinto wedding in Tokyo?
Yes. Meiji Jingu and Hie Shrine both marry non-Japanese couples, as a religious ceremony that is not legally binding. The rite is in Japanese, photography inside is restricted, and Meiji Jingu caps attendance at 46, so plan a bilingual guide for your guests and book the reception hall with the ceremony.
